This is the view from the pier in Provincetown, Massachusetts, located at the very tip of Cape Cod. You’re looking at the Long Point Lighthouse and a breakwater. Dotting the breakwater are, I believe, cormorants, enjoying the mid-day sun.
According to Wikipedia, P-Town is a small town with a year round population of only 3,431, but as a resort community in summer, it swells to 19,000 to 60,000. It’s known for its shops and galleries and has been home to a long list of notables including Tennessee Williams, Eugene O’Neill, Norman Mailer, Kurt Vonnegut, John Waters and Anthony Bourdain.
I have to believe it attracts as many photographers and artists, given it’s unique location and scenic views. Definitely worth the trip.
