The beauty of the four seasons we experience in New England is that they turn, give way to the next. It’s relief to the restless, variety to those who appreciate it. I saw this leaf on the ground and was impressed with its color palette and the lack of imperfection that befalls most life as it begins to decay this time of year. I looked around for a fitting backdrop. The overgrown lawn? No. Concrete walkway? No. A scattered pile of less impressive leaves? No sir.
A patio table was about to be packed up for the season, so before its legs were amputated for the winter, I placed the leaf upon it and snapped a quick shot with my iPhone 5S. After some tweaks in Nik Color Efex Pro and Lightroom, this is where I capped it.
Fantastic effect Rey! I wouldn’t have picked that it was a patio table. Very nicely done 🙂
Thanks, Norma!
What an inspired idea! It almost looks like the leaf is floating on a crystalized pond. Beautiful!
Thanks, Melodie – a very simple idea… that does give a nice effect. I like the way you’ve described it.
