I am at a loss to tell you why, but for some strange reason, gazing at this scene, I couldn’t help but think of the journey of the little Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings, envisioning Frodo and Samwise hiking perilously on their way to Mordor.
“There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for.” Samwise Gamgee (J.R.R. Tolkien)
“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Thanks Rebecca. I thought I might hear from you on this post! A great passage, reminiscent of Robert Frost. Ed
Another one of my favourites!! 🙂
