… and never have I been so proud to call it home.

A year ago.  By definition, an act of terrorism is meant to disrupt.  To introduce fear and panic into situations normal and to prompt doubt.  So that we stay away.

But 36,000 runners came.  Hundreds of thousands of observers came.

It was a beautiful, meaningful day.  It was extraordinary for so many reasons… first among them… it was normal.
