Classic. I love the photographic inspiration this represents. It suggests that when you feel stuck with nothing to shoot, there are still subjects to be exploited all around you. The shot also effectively demonstrates that it is all about light.
It’s interesting that you say that Prentis — I was having breakfast in a hotel in Calif. on a business trip with colleagues. It was early and the morning light was coming in almost horizontally through an east facing window, and the shadows were deep and dramatic. I exposed (in my iPhone) for the plate, which darkened the background nicely. A little saturation added in post, and there it is. Had it not been for that light, it never would have caught my eye.
