Taken a few winters back. We went to sleep, fogged in and rained out. Went all that way to photograph in the trail of Ansel. But the weather thought otherwise.
When we awakened… however.
A fresh white coat and glimmering sunshine teased us out from warmer confines.
Taken with a lowly Olympus PEN (I don’t remember which one as I shot with all of them at one point or another) and the Olympus 9-18 slow zoom, which some say can’t extract all the details out.
Now, a few years hence… and with these newly acquired post-processing skills, I thought I’d give it another go. And low and behold… there’s details in them there hills.
These days, I’d choose warmer and drier locations, though.
Rey Adams! Beautiful shot and finishing. The Yosemite Valley and Merced River are awesome. We visted there a few years ago and immediately understood why John Muir, Ansel and so many others hunkered down at this place.
Rey Adams? Hardly, but thank you, Michael! Totally agree with you about Yosemite. It’s a photographer’s paradise.

Love the shot. We could do ourselves a favor and mine our hard drives for hidden photographic gems. Some color shots come alive when rendered in B&W. Rey, please remind us what you are using for B&W conversion.
Thank you, Prentis… and good point about mining the library.
I’m using Nik Silver Efex Pro. I love it — and all the Nik products for that matter.
Thanks,
Rey
