Lost at the Beach

We were never much of a beach family growing up.  Our vacations more often than not, consisted of trips to the mountains, lakes or rivers to our north or west.  Despite having some of the prettiest ocean beaches to our south on Cape Cod, it was fresh water and pine trees for us most of the time.

To this day, I’m still partial to the lakes, and we’ve spent many summer vacations with our children there too.  But, as I’ve written here before, there’s something about the beach.  Blue on blue, lapping waves, gull sounds, rocks and cliffs.  Immensity and calm, all at once.

It’s so very easy to get lost at the beach, in a good way, that is.

Love it! You know I adore the sea but the woods and streams are so very special as well. 🙂
