On the site of a leather tannery that got it’s start in the same year as the United States of America, (1776), there now operates The WinSmith Mill Market, a sprawling complex of 13 independent antique shops, selling everything from furniture to china, from dolls to garden tools, and it’s located in Norwood, Massachusetts, about 30 minutes southwest of Boston.
My wife recently discovered this mecca of the old and unique and brought me in so I could see for myself what proved to be a never-ending trove of the truly valuable and the seemingly valueless.
Of course, I brought my camera.
Each shop is laid out in it’s own shopkeeper’s style, sometimes with a humorous touch, like this sign, or creatively, or adventurously, to be enjoyed as you amble about.
You will find rustic elegance…
And you can take a seat…
Find the the latest in electronics…
Plan a trip with a genuine steamer trunk…
There’s something for everyone…
And no effort is made to hide these historic mill buildings’ true character…
Leave no stone unturned, as you search for that perfect something…
The friendly vendors at WinSmith Mill Markets include ReMARKable Closeouts, Ramblin Rose, Old Bean Antiques, Vintage Thymes, Vintage Peacock, Attitudes Boutique, Posh Market, Gallery Two, Blue Bird Studios, W.G. Holding Co., and G.T. Vintage.
Whether you are a seeker of the lost or a collector of the unique, or even if you have no interest in antiques, I recommend a visit.
And allow plenty of time; just when you think you’re done, another shop beckons.
What an eclectic bunch of stuff ! Another sign which would have fit right in with the others would have been one that reads, “No Stuff “. Ha! Nice photos, and very interesting, too.
Thanks Michael. No Stuff? They will never have No Stuff! There’s enough stuff to last forever! LOL, Ed
Love the multicolored chair shot. The place is certainly a target rich environment. Nice bunch of shots.
Thanks Prentis.
Great photos, Ed. What a wonderful place to wander through. I could spend hours here. I love those old cameras. Blessings, dear friend.
