“There is a profound and enduring beauty in simplicity, in clarity, in efficiency. True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation—it’s about bringing order to complexity,” said Jony Ive, Apple’s senior vice president of Design, June 10, 2013, in reference to the unveiling of Apple’s new iOS operating system.

But his words apply to so much more.

“Just this.” The essence of focus.

    Ed,

You are quickly becoming a minimalist maverick…excellent! And quoting Apple’s design genius Jony Ive…excelsior!

Thanks Frank. What’s interesting is that was not a set up. The early morning sun comes straight thru the east facing window of the dining room very briefly before it rises above the window frame. The elastic had been left there by another member of he family, and I was just having breakfast! Timing is everything. Thx, Ed

You’ve done some good work with the week off :0). The first photo is rich in texture and the lighting is superb, AND the second photo’s lighting is majestically magical! Simple, yet eloquent and mind tingling.
