Courage, Faith and Love

Memorial Day, cemetery, grave, United States, flag, Sony NEX 6

Today is Memorial Day in the United States, when we commemorate those who served and sacrificed their lives in service to their country.

Dedicated to their countrymen, committed to their cause,

Selfless, strong and focused, in spirit, mind and core.

Loyal to their branch, risking life and limb for squad,

Reminding us for all time, of Courage, Faith and Love.

I have been to Arlington a few times and have never gotten a photo this great. How did you do it Ed? And is it even in Arlington? Nice poem to go along with the sentiment of the day too… well done Sid.

Thanks Rodney, this was taken at a local cemetery that has a section for veterans. I wished there were more flags but I think it came out ok just the same. Ed.

  2. Beautiful photo and words. Just lost my uncle who was the last surviving marine in Kansas City of the Battle for Iwo Jima. He was a Purple Heart recipient. To all, old and young, who serve(d) and sacrifice(d) for our freedoms…thank you.
