Not everything is as it appears, by Michael Doran

mural, Quebec City, Michael Doran

Michael Doran sent us these photos in response to our April theme on Entrances and Exits.  At first glance on my iPhone, and before reading his email, I thought, well, that’s nice, looks like he took a trip to a European destination, maybe a college town?

But then I looked again.  And I read Michael’s note:

These photos are from the old fortified section of Quebec City. The wall is a wonderful mural. I have included several photos so you can see the entire wall from different perspectives. The last photo shows my wife, Cheryl, getting ready to walk into a brick wall…I mean up some stairs!

The key word is “mural”.  Take a closer look and see if you were as surprised as I was.

Thanks Michael, I hope Cheryl found what she was looking for!

Trompe l’oeil is always fun and this is especially well done, thanks for the views.

  2. Ed, You made my day with this post, and it appears you had as much fun taking it all in as we did experiencing this locale. Thanks for sharing our photos. By the way, Cheryl did find what she was looking for….Europe without leaving North America!

There is art all around us…and that makes life all the more remarkable.
