Image taken in Sequoia National Park where the sequoias are justifiably the showcase. But I was as impressed by the others – the firs, the conifers, and pines. This lone hardwood and its smaller mate seemed to absorb all of the light from the neighboring landscape. Though I was drawn to the mighty sequoias (is there any other word to describe them?), it was this pair that also absorbed all of me.
