Ed paused for the weblog equivalent of a moment of silence yesterday in honor of Friday’s devastating events.
We typically like to keep the mood light and airy around here at 2 Guys Photo, but it’s been difficult containing the welling up of emotion.
So, what to say… what to say? Friend and poet, Joe Barca, penned some simple words and I thought I would reproduce them here. Thank you, Joe.
They Were Too Young to Know
They were too young to know
That they wouldn’t get to open their lunchboxes
That evil exists
That they should hide under their desks
That their president would cry for them
That they should run
That the gun control issue would rage on
That they should close their eyes
That there are no good answers
That there would be no need for prom dresses, tuxedos, or wedding gowns
That their beds would stay cold on that Friday in December
Very poignant! May the people of Newtown find some sort of peace in their lives.. Someday
Thank you for a poignant and heartfelt tribute. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who feel all is lost!
