I encountered this fellow quite by chance. He was resting motionless in the bathroom sink, and being of considerable color and proportion, he caught my eye. I started shooting and, assuming he was asleep or otherwise preoccupied and not caring, I kept on shooting.
However, I must have startled him because suddenly he exited to the nearest hiding place, perhaps his temporary home away from home?
Click on the above for a particularly creepy view.
Not sure what type of spider he is, so any help would be appreciated. It looks like a wolf or possibly a hobo spider, but not sure. This image will give you a sense of size compared to a US Quarter.
Sony NEX 6, edited in Lightroom 4.
Creepy indeed! The second shot is best in my opinion and it looks like it could be in a sci fi movie or something. Great closeup
Thanks Rodney. That’s with the new Sony NEX 6 and kit lens, I’m pretty happy with it so far. Ed
I am no spider expert so I can’t help you with the ID but you have some fine images to show the spider off here. I actually like the last one of the spider in the drain. I imagine him just peeking out waiting for you to go away. 🙂
…to go away or to pounce! Thanks LaRee. Ed
Well, that definitely says something about the Sony NEX 6
YIKES!!
I am amazed at how fast you get you camera out to take a photo!!
It’s always with me Rebecca! Ok, not always, but close.
I had heard about the legend of those that carried cameras everywhere with them. And now I have actually met one of the legends….
Yes, but my wife’s not too happy about it. LOL.
Legends sometimes need to have someone to remind them that it is OK to look at life with their own eyes!!! 😀
