Have you ever stood at a spot, looked ahead and wondered?
Has the clarity of the moment been obscured by the uncertainty ahead?
Have you ever tried to put into pictures what you struggle to put into words?

I think photos are a way to communicate telepathically!
A gorgeous photo. How did you get the blur? I think it’s something to do with depth of field?? I’m trying to get my camera to do similar shots but it refuses!! It would be very helpful to me if you would add the camera meta data – shutter speeds, aperture etc. Thank you so much.
Hi Lizzie. You’re right, it is the depth of field. The DOF is determined largely by the aperture: the larger the aperture (lower aperture number), the narrower the DOF. Other factors come into play such as the size of the sensor on your camera and the amount of zoom (focal length) of your lens. But experiment using a larger aperture and see if you notice the difference. And let us know! Thanks, Ed.
Thanks, Ed. I’ll try it out and let you know. Bless you.
lizziejoy10 – it’s all about depth of field. I shot this at ISO 400, f1.6 and 1/4000 second (with a Nikon D600 full frame camera). What kind of camera are you shooting with? Some cameras (and most importantly lenses) will not be able to capture such a narrow depth of field as I’ve done in this image. Thanks,
Rey
