I spent this past weekend in Steep Falls, Maine at a campground that we’ve been visiting in September for several years now. It’s a traditional fishing weekend at a pond that usually yields a few trout and the occasional bass and always makes for a fun time. So as I left on Friday morning, (armed with more gear for photography than fishing), I was confident that I’d be sharing a gorgeous trout photo with you today.
But that was not meant to be since Mother Nature had other plans. The rain never let up and the winds barely subsided for three days straight, and the winds were sending lines and lures upward into the trees at an alarming rate. The best we could do was to walk around the pond and admire the advancing foliage.
What’s that expression about making lemonade…?
This Dad took advantage of a brief break in the rain to take his family out for a little cruise. Good guy.
These were taken with a Canon SX 230 HS point and shoot and edited in iPhoto.
I’ll be back, and I’ll get you that trout photo eventually!
Your photos remind me of a Normal Rockwell moment!! Beautiful…
Thanks Rebecca. I’m a fan of NR so that’s quite a compliment.
