Perfect use of light Ed! What kind of editing did you do? And I love the quote as well. you always find great quotes that exemplify your photos!
Thanks Rodney. I did some editing but nothing too heavy. The most important step was cropping. I wanted the heron to be the focal point so I cropped so that the bird was at one of the rule of thirds intersections.
I then boosted the shadows to push the heron and rock into silhouette, and that also added contrast to the ripples in the water.
Lastly, I tweaked the saturation. Voila! Thanks for asking.
