Photography or art? Now it’s YOUR turn.

The responses to today’s earlier post “Is it photography or is it art?” were pretty unanimous. I think Kara S. summed it up by concluding her comment with: “So the answer to your question, “Is it photography or is it art?” is yes.”

And Debbie G. wondered if we gave the same image to multiple photographers (or artists for that matter), and let each post-process as they chose to, what kind of varied results would we get?

Well, I thought that was a great idea, so above is the original beach scene, straight from the camera. Feel free to click once to bring up the larger size, then right click and save. Post-process to your heart’s content: crop, desaturated, mirror, superimpose, etc. and render that image in a way that reflects you and your artistic talents.

Email your finished work to us at 2guysphoto@gmail.com, and we’ll publish them all here in a follow up post. You can also choose to add any comments when you submit your image, that would tell us about what you did and how you did it, what you were seeing and feeling etc. or, simply let your work speak for itself. It’s totally up to you.

Many thanks to fcg, Kara, Frank, Debbie, Rodney and all who “liked” and commented on this morning’s post, and now everyone is warmly welcomed to join us in this little experiment.

And as always, thanks for visiting 2GP.

I gave it a shot. It will be interesting to see what people come up with. It takes both an artistic eye and PP talent and I’m still trying to learn both.
