I’m a big, big believer in the adage that it’s better to “get it right in camera” and also that “you can’t make a good photo out of a bad one“… but that never stops me from trying.
The above photo was taken on an unusually cool August day a few years ago at a beach in Acadia National Park. It’s a throwaway shot and as someone who is more inclined toward landscape photography, my eye was drawn to the rock formations and scattered stones over the sand. It wasn’t until years later that I took note of the toddler. Hmmm… I wonder if some cropping, blurring, selective sharpening, contrast adjustments and the kitchen sink might salvage this one?
