According to Wikipedia, “A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object.” I would add that, sometimes, the shadow is more interesting than the object that cast it. Here are some examples…
Friday night, I attended my nephew’s graduation from an all boy high school. I arrived only a few minutes before they called his name and waited alongside several young men, all of whom were sporting navy blue blazers and khaki pants. While waiting, I couldn’t help but think that these young men, along with the other young men and women of their generation, represented the future. And I wondered if their future influence would reach as far as their shadows did this day.
The first three images above were taken with an iPhone, 4 the fourth with a Canon SX230HS P&S camera.
