“Life is what happens…”

“Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans”, is a quote attributed to John Lennon (from his song “Beautiful Boy”). And isn’t that the truth?

Rey and I thoroughly enjoyed our time creating, promoting and sharing 2 Guys Photo, and were, quite frankly, amazed at our success in less than a year. But then life crept in and let us know that we were needed elsewhere: as fathers, husbands and sons, at our jobs and elsewhere. Imagine our shock to learn that we could no longer devote every waking moment to the blog, (Ok, I exaggerate… but not by much), and so we reluctantly called a “time out”. We put down our cameras and keyboards, and did the right thing.

But as is often the case, things have settled down and we’ve managed to carve out some time. We’re excited to put 2 Guys Photo back into service, with just a few changes. We may follow a less aggressive posting schedule than before our “time out” but we still aim to share quality images and information of interest to anyone bitten with the “photography bug”.  And while we explored other ways to share and participate in community, we’ve decided to come back to what worked and what just felt right.

So, whether you’re “one of the guys”, returning as we return, or you’re a newcomer, we welcome you to our blog. As always, we want this to be an inclusive, participative venue for everyone, from the newest amateur picture-taker, to the most experienced photographer, so please, jump right in. Comment, write, ask, and suggest — we’re all ears. And if you’d like to write for 2 Guys, or share a post from your own blog or some of your best photos, just let us know!

Thanks for you patience and support, and we hope that you find 2 Guys worth a few minutes of your day. Remember, as our friend John Lennon said, “Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.”

Thanks for wasting some time with us.

It’s wonderful that you have decided to do this again. I know that it takes a lot of your time but it provides a great service and it is very appreciated by this guy and I am sure “the rest of the guys” (of every gender). You are now on my daily viewing habit again. Thanks very much for your efforts.

  5. How nice to see you post again! I have been ‘off’ my routine for awhile so thought it was just me missing you! I still haven’t finished editing and uploading my pics with the SONY NEX 5N from our trip last fall so now I feel a little better with my own break…. Life is good and we are all lucky to have reasons to take breaks! Glad to see you back!
