In keeping with my Western U.S. theme of late, I’m posting another image from my recent trip… this one from Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. I was enthralled by the wide open nature of many of the walking trails there, having followed a carefully established path that just simply let out into this open area. Other than jackrabbits, I saw no other evidence of life. It was serene.
Photo taken with a Sony NEX 5N at ISO 125, f4 and 1/500 second. Clearly, the f4 was a mistake as a landscape scene such as this would have surely called for a smaller aperture in order to maximize depth of field. There’s a surprising amount of clarity in the foreground and background for such a relatively open aperture.
A small amount of contrast, saturation and brightness adjustment in Apple Aperture.
