It’s the local Protestant church which borders my favorite daily (ok, nearly daily) walking path. The sky was foreboding, which is a remarkably cliche but frustratingly perfect descriptor in this instance. Had to use it. My apologies.
I couldn’t seem to nail the right exposure without blowing out the sky… after all, this is really a photo of the sky… which just so happens to have a conveniently placed subject in front of it. So, I resorted to a three shot HDR merge with my Fujifilm X100 digital camera. The ISO was 200 and aperture f8. Shutter speeds ranged from 1/125 to 1/500. Photos combined and subsequently tortured in the wonderful Nik HDR Efex Pro software, running as a plug-in to Apple Aperture.
