In the park nearby, I typically see Canadian Geese and a few varieties of mallard and duck. On this particular day, I and my micro-4/3 camera (mated to the Panasonic 100-300 telezoom) saw this visitor. The photo above was cropped and contrast, saturation and vibrancy were boosted in Aperture. I also selectively added some sharpening. The original photo is below.

Looks like what we affectionately call a GBH (Great Blue Heron).around here (Seattle). I agree with Ed, the crop really makes this photo.
