Stefanie Gordon, during a Delta flight from New York City to Palm Beach, Florida, snapped this photo of the Space Shuttle Endeavor as it was lifting off yesterday morning. By the end of the day, she… or her photograph… was an internet sensation, having spiraled up into coveted viral status. By the end of the day, this photo (which she tweeted) had amassed nearly 200,000 hits.
This made me think about other “taken from a plane” possibilities and I wondered if any 2 Guys Photo readers have ever captured an interesting image from their plane seat.
I recall landing in Honolulu on July 3rd in 1985 atop a full display of fireworks, which I had never quite seen from above before. But alas, that was during my photographic dark years and I wasn’t inclined to even have a camera with me at the time. I mean, who brings a camera to Hawaii?
If you have any photos you’ve taken from an airplane, feel free to email them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll post them here.
