Here’s a winter scene shot using a Nikon D5000 and Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom. Post-processing was minimal (a bit of straightening and a smidgen of contrast boost). My hope was that this image would create an inviting sense, leading the viewer to want to proceed forward. The brightness of the upper portion contrasts with the lower portion which lies in shadows. I could have selectively opened the bottom up by brightening, but I sought, instead, to try to bring the eye from a darker foreground to the brighter background as our eyes tend to move from darkness to light.

Nice job here Rey. I’d say the only scene more difficult to expose than snow is snow with sunny and shadowy areas. But you’re right – it draws us right down the path.
